These new led spot lights use 1.2-1.5 watts of power rather than dihochroic spot lights that are 50 watts and give the same level of light and do not produce heat like dihochroic lamps this helps to reduce global warming. They also last a long time, 30,000 hours! (coloured last 50,000hrs). That's more than 3 years! if they where left on all the time. So you won't be replacing them very often at all!
For example:
If there is a room has 10 x 50w spot lights, that's 500w turned on for 4 hours a day.
Calculation:
So if the price of electricity for example is an average of 32p per KWH (kilowatt/hour) the cost of running the lights for 4 hours day for one week is.
- 4 hours a day x 7 days a week = 28 hrsx 0.5 kw x 0.32 pence = £4.48 per week! This sum quarterly is £143.36 vat That works out to £ 573.44 vat (at your suppliers rate) a year!
A massive saving over time could be made by having 10 x 2 watt Led spot lights turned on for 4 hours a day 7 days a week is: 28hrs x 0.015kw x 0.32 pence = 13 pence per week! The price quarterly is
- £2.08 vat! This a year is £ 8.32 vat (at your suppliers rate)
- The conclusion of this is a massive saving of £ 565.12 vat a year!
