How electrically safe is your home and/or business property?
I have come across many that weren't. They were a serious fire hazard. I.e. overrated circuit breakers, incorrectly wired circuits, overloaded circuits, old and deteriorated cables, copper wire in fuse holders not fuse wire. These likely defects all contribute to an accident waiting to happen. A domestic property should be tested every 10 years or change of occupancy which ever occurs first. So if you have recently moved into a new house or flat renting or bought it should have been certificated before. This is government legislation. A council grant is available for these likely defects to be corrected and your house to be safe and correct to the 17th edition regulations. This consists of a new consumer unit containing two RCDs (Residual current devices). These devices protect you from electric shock. From faulty appliances and accidentally nailing cables buried in masonry.
A full inspection of your property would show up any defects and put your mind at ease. An NICEIC certificate will be issued on completion of the inspection and any defects that need addressing.
From my experience electrical fires are commonly caused by DIY electrics from previous owners who think they know what there doing and do not realise the dangers involved. The only way of making sure your property is electrically safe is by having this inspection.

Health and Safety, Qualifications and Training
Our Engineers are fully qualified to the current 17th edition regulations and are JIB (joint industry board) approved. They have passed the CSCS health and safety course set by the HSE (Health and Safety Executive). We maintain a high standard of safety checks before during and after the works are complete. We also hold IPAF powered access equipment licenses for use with scissor lifts and boom lifts for high level working.
